Design Notes

In the case of CYP3A4-MYC, the CYP3A4 enzyme retains its natural function as a cytochrome P450 enzyme, responsible for the oxidation and metabolism of a wide range of substrates, including pharmaceuticals, environmental toxins, and endogenous compounds. The addition of the MYC tag allows to easily detect and quantify CYP3A4 expression levels in cells. CYP3A4-MYC would provide the same broad detoxification functions as untagged CYP3A4, initiating the oxidative metabolism of drugs, pollutants, and toxins.
